Not by best photo as it was taken on my phone and the Chinook was moving fast and low. We are quite used to see these massive machines fly over our house, but this one was incredibly low. I understand that they need to exercise, but this could easily spook a horse being ridden.

August 21st – Nosey neighbours….
Obviously not our lovely human neighbours, but our bovine friends in the back field. They are very inquisitive, watching me move various items from the cabin into Eric, the new workshop. The cabin is nearly empty now, and almost ready for a good clean and maybe a coat of paint. It’s been an emotional experience,Continue reading “August 21st – Nosey neighbours….”
August 19th – Artwork
We decided to change a picture in the lounge with a nice Steven Brown canvas of Effilumps It’s probably not everyone’s taste but we like it. That’s the thing with art, it is subjective. No rights or wrongs. Many aspects of our lives are subjective, and I think it’s interesting to hear other people’s opinionContinue reading “August 19th – Artwork”
August 18th – Benefits of having a tall son
Denise (in her infinite wisdom) decided to paint the spindles on our staircase (85!!), but there’s some that are a tad difficult to reach. Thankfully, Andy reached out and lent a hand so no need for ladders etc Another example of ‘no such thing as a free lunch’ 🤣.
August 4th – Pretty impostor…
We have a weed in our lawn, but it’s pretty so we’re leaving it in. Not quite sure what it is, but plantsnap suggests that it maybe a common / dwarf mallow (Malva neglacta). If it is this, then the plant is considered a weed, but is often consumed as food, especially the seeds whichContinue reading “August 4th – Pretty impostor…”
August 14th – Snack time
I love this time of year because mother nature provides snacks for me whilst walking the 4 legged children, however, I need to be quick before they grab them before me…. The Flatties in particular are very fond of blackberries, and we always laugh at them sniffing the berries before carefully picking the ripe onesContinue reading “August 14th – Snack time”
August 13th – Goodbye old friend
A sad day, as we empty the truck ready for a trade in tomorrow. Having had this vehicle for the last 16 years, we have very fond memories of adventures in it. Probably, the most memorable was the time (many years ago) that we took the 4 kids to Northern France in it. Following theContinue reading “August 13th – Goodbye old friend”
August 11th – sheikh Alfie
Today’s picture is of our loopy Munsterlander Alfie, who quietly tolerated being dressed up as an Arab. He is a fruit loop but we love him
August 12th – Dinner
After a hot game of golf, I returned home to an amazing moussaka washed down with some mead, thanks to our house guests, Estella and Andy. There’s even a little left for tomorrow…. Bagsey is in for the leftovers …. Nom nom
August 10th – When you have a Large Munsterlander….
A bit of a weird photo today, featuring a very chewed Croc, belonging to my wife. It quite often finds itself on the back of the sofa, thanks to Alfie, who seems to have adopted it as his favourite toy…… It is a common occurrence to find just one shoe (usually when you’re in aContinue reading “August 10th – When you have a Large Munsterlander….”
