Firstly, an apology. I have missed a few days but will endeavour to catch up over the next few days. Life has been hectic with our lounge being decorated through last week and other jobs that required doing, but thankfully my head is appearing back above the surface. Today’s picture is of one of ourContinue reading “June 12th – The grass is always greener”

June 11th – Figs
Our fig tree is doing rather well. It was in the garden when we moved (16 years ago), and seems pretty happy where it is situated in a quiet, sheltered area by our summerhouse. I copied the following from a quick search here There are over 750 known Ficus species in the world, native allContinue reading “June 11th – Figs”
June 10th – Busy day
Lots of exercise today, and we were very lucky with the weather. Today’s photo was taken this morning when we set off on a 9km socially distanced walk with the dogs and 4 friends from home. We are very fortunate to live where we do with so many fantastic walks around. If you want toContinue reading “June 10th – Busy day”
June 8th – Passion at Taumata
What??!!
June 6th – Contrast
Last week we were melting with temperatures in the mid to high 20’s. This evening we lit the fire…. What is the weather doing?? We did get some rain for the garden finally, and lots of indoor chores done which have been neglected whilst the weather was so brilliant, so not all bad.
June 5th – Weather
Well, as the farmers say, we need the rain. We had a really heavy storm earlier, and I was going to take a photo of that but a cooking incident hampered my efforts. I played in the kitchen again, and conjured up some chicken in Hoisin sauce, with garlic rice and black beans, topped withContinue reading “June 5th – Weather”
June 3rd – Variety
I played Andy at golf earlier at Stockwood Vale Golf Club. I really enjoy playing at my local club, but as with most things in life, a bit of variety is good to keep you fresh now and again. The views on most courses are great, and Stockwood didn’t disappoint with some challenging ups andContinue reading “June 3rd – Variety”
June 2nd – Rude awakening
Not the start to the day we wanted this morning….. Water coming through the ceiling in the lounge. After switching of the water, it was time to find a rod to put some small holes in the ceiling, to drain the water off before the ceiling came down. After that was accomplished, it was timeContinue reading “June 2nd – Rude awakening”
June 1st – Sundowner
Another fabulous day in the UK, with lovely sunshine, and a great game of golf with great friends. I got home from golf and shared a BBQ with our drive guests Clive and Sarah. Afterwards, we headed up to the back of our garden to watch the sun go down on a fab day, withContinue reading “June 1st – Sundowner”
May 31st – No such thing as a free lunch
So Andy (step son) and Stella came over for a socially distanced lunch today, but the wife ‘suggested’ a task afterwards, which was sorting out her mosaic tiles into different colours. It was weirdly therapeutic, and thanks to some up cycled takeaway containers, the task was soon complete. It will really help Denise crack onContinue reading “May 31st – No such thing as a free lunch”
